On November 14th, the company announced that it is expanding its green electricity production in Tiszaújváros with a new 48 MWp solar power plant, one of the largest directly connected to an industrial consumer in Hungary.

Budapest, July 10, 2024 — Lummus Technology, a global provider of process technologies and value-driven energy solutions, and MOL Group, the leading integrated Central Eastern European oil and gas corporation, announced the commencement of the design phase for the first Lummus Advanced Waste Plastic Recycling unit.

Tiszaújváros, May 14, 2024 - MOL's EUR 1.3 billion polyol complex in Tiszaújváros, boasting a capacity of around 200,000 tonnes of polyol per year, has been inaugurated. The ceremony, addressed by Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orbán, MOL's Chairman-CEO, Zsolt Hernádi, and thyssenkrupp Board member Ilse Henne, marks a significant milestone for the company. MOL Group stands as the sole entity in Hungary and in Central and Eastern Europe to cover the entire value chain, from petroleum processing to polyol production (a widely used plastic raw material). 

MOL Group has received the ISCC Plus certificate for its chemical recycling activities at its Tiszaújváros site, verifying that the plant complies with the regulations and enables the company to create a comprehensive value chain that includes the entire life cycle of plastic waste.

The layout of MOL Group Chemicals related polymer brands has been renewed recently to give a more modern and fresh look to these well-known brands. Furthermore a key aim was to harmonize the layouts of product brands that MOL Group Chemicals produces at different sites in Hungary and in Slovakia. Soon the new layouts will be visible on the packaging of the products that is under design now.

It was a great honour that MOL GROUP Chemicals has received Top Design Award for its booth presented at Plastpol trade show in Poland between 23-26 May. The award has been given only to few stands out of 605 exhibitors. The innovative solutions of the booth such as interactive wall or virtual showcasing on a 15m2 large curved, transparent LED wall combined with an elegant and clear design impressed the jury and also the visitors during the show.

MOL Group Chemicals’ third online customer meeting has been organized on 16th May, with great interest. Hundreds of visitors joined the event from more than 20 countries and we shared with them our expectations regarding the polymer market trends and introduced the developments with which we are trying to prepare for and respond to the challenges of future.
