MOL Group Chemicals brings decades of experience to the petrochemical industry and offers a competitive portfolio of high quality products in our core region. We operate two production sites in Hungary (Százhalombatta & Tiszaújváros) and one production site in Slovakia (Bratislava), from which we offer complex and flexible logistics solutions.
Our goal is to become the FIRST CHOICE of our partners in our core region by leveraging the advantages of our location in Central and Eastern Europe.
MOL Group Chemicals consists of three business units: Polymer, Base Chemicals, and Polyol.
We offer our partners Tailor-Made Polymer SOLUTIONS that help build a SUCCESSFUL RELATIONSHIP. Base Chemicals offers a wide range of high quality aromatics, monomers (Butadiene, ethylene, proplyene), aliphatics, maleic anhydride, base oils, fully refined macro, intermedier and micro waxes. Polyol is a new venture for MOL, which will start commercial production in 2024 in Tiszaújváros, using the most advanced, safe and environmentally friendly technologies.
We prioritize OPERATIONAL EXCELLENCE, regularly maintaining our machines and assets to ensure smooth operations and minimize the risk of production outages. We optimize and harmonize our operations among our three different production sites.

MOL Group Chemicals’ Management

Péter Császár CEO of MOL Petrochemicals and SVP of MOL Downstream Chemicals
Péter Császár holds an MSC degree in Finance from Corvinus University of Budapest. After graduating, he immediately started working in the energy sector as an investment and industry analyst in Budapest, London and Warsaw.
He joined MOL Group in 2013, where he took over the management of Logistics Hungary in 2019, after holding several financial management positions, including the positions of BoD member of Italian operations and Group DS CFO. After almost 2 years of successful operations, he continued his career as Head of Production Hungary, where he was responsible for the management of the Danube and Zala refineries. Under his leadership, the most complex and successful major turnaround in the history of the Danube Refinery was successfully completed, securing fuel supplies for the country and the region in 2022. Since 1 February 2023, he has been CEO of MOL Petrochemicals and SVP of MOL Downstream Chemicals.

Krisztina Petrényiné Szabó, Group Polymers BU Director
Krisztina Petrényiné Szabó graduated from University of Miskolc with a degree in Marketing Management and then from the Budapest University of Economics with a second master's degree in International Business and Economics.
She started her career in polymer sales at MOL Petrochemicals and later held various management positions in Downstream business.
From 2016 to 2019, she oversaw the development of the polyol business, and up until 2022, she also managed MOL Group Downstream overall business development efforts. Her professional support has been instrumental in shaping MOL’s 2030 strategy.
She was then Head of Circular Chemicals within the DS New & Sustainable Businesses until she was appointed Group Polymers BU Director. In 2019, she received the Sustainable Future Award in the Leading Women category from the Business Council for Sustainable Development in Hungary.

Katalin Nádas Head of Group Base Chemicals BU
Katalin Nádas graduated from the University of Nyíregyháza with a degree in International Relations and continued her studies at the Maastricht School of Management MBA and Corvinus University Executive MBA.
She started her career in the chemical industry in 2003 as a specialist and product manager for all refinery chemicals. From 2014, she was responsible for export sales and subsidiary coordination within the LPG business, and in 2017, she resumed her career in the chemicals business in various management positions. Following the creation of the Group Chemicals Business, she was responsible for managing the Group Base Chemicals Business from 2022.
She has been Head of Group Base Chemicals BU since October 2023.

Dóra Benedek Head of Group Chemicals Margin Management
Dóra Benedek earned her master’s degree in chemical engineering from Budapest University of Technology and Economics.
She began her career in Production Scheduling in 2015 at the Danube Refinery, later transitioning to the Group Special Product Business Unit as LPG Planning & Optimization Expert, where she managed operative scheduling and short-term optimization from production sales and logistics aspects, focusing also on petrochemical feedstock supply. Moving into Planning Process Development department, she supported local schedulers and various organizations, gaining expertise in digitalization, reporting tools, and modeling.
From 2023, she supported the Chemicals SVP & MOL Petrochemicals CEO as a Professional Assistant, working on a wide range of projects, preparing strategic decision-making materials, coordinating cross-functional cooperation, and collaborating with colleagues across multiple departments.
She has been Head of Group Chemicals Margin Management since April 2025.

Tamás Füzes Head of Group Chemicals Business Support
Tamás Füzes obtained his economist degrees from the Corvinus University of Budapest and later on from the Faculty of Finance and Accountancy of the Budapest Business University specializing in Business Administration and Management and in Corporate Finance.
Before joining MOL Group, he held various finance positions in a UK telecommunications company and was a manager in the financial transformation consulting practice at Deloitte, where he led a number of projects for various multinational companies, mainly in the financial and energy sectors.
Tamás joined the MOL Group Financial Planning & Reporting team in 2018 and continued his career as a senior project manager in Group Operation, ERP Strategy & Execution from 2020. From 2021, he led the MOL DS Business Excellence team.
On 15 September 2023, Tamás was appointed Head of Group Chemicals Business Support. The organisation's main areas include data and process management, customer and product portfolio management, and B2B marketing activities.
Balázs Bognár - Head of Group Chemicals Market Strategy and Product Development
Balázs brings a wealth of experience to MOL Group Chemicals, having previously built a successful career in the energy sector. As a Manager at EY-Parthenon, he led impactful consulting projects across Central Eastern Europe and the Middle East. Prior to this, Balázs began his professional journey at MOL Group, where he honed his skills within the Resource Allocation team as a Growwwer. His career at MOL Group spanned various roles, including a significant six-year tenure in Exploration & Production. In this capacity, he spearheaded key projects, coordinated crucial investment approvals, and played a pivotal role in developing robust business strategies, both at the company headquarters and as an integral member of the MOL Pakistan team. Balázs holds an economics degree from Eötvös Loránd University.
Stefan Hornacek - Head of Polyol Business Unit
Prior to joining MOL Group, Stefan worked as Vice president for sales and procurement at Fortischem Slovakia and as Senior procurement specialist at Spolchemie, the Czech Republic (both members of Kaprain group). He became part of the restructuring team of the Fortischem plant in Slovakia in 2021. Stefan with his passion in building business relationships was able to rebuild a reliable reputation between commercial partners.
Since 2009 when he joined the chemical industry he has been responsible for various projects and the development of business relationships in sales as well as in procurement. During his 10-year role at Spolchemie he become a well-known global expert for setting different strategies for the procurement of various products, for instance Bisphenol A, ECH, Crude glycerine etc. He graduated in management at Franciscan University of Steubenville, Ohio (USA) in 2008.
